AN INVITATION TO SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT
ARC Advocates Program
The Advocates Representing the Community Program began in 2015 as a way to help develop clients/neighbors who were ready to volunteer, give back, and pay closer attention to their own self-development in a focused way. We have new ARC Participants every six months who receive a stipend and weekly mentoring, spend 10+ hours a week volunteering at the BCC, set their own personal and professional goals, and give back/advocate for the homeless community through a self-directed project. Past participants have set and made big life goals including finding permanent housing, securing a job, completing job training/internship classes, and maintaining sobriety. Participants projects that they designed to give back to the community have included art classes, self-care and mindfulness time, health care and first-aid training, and library courses.
We invite partners to help fund this specific program and invest in developing individuals ready to make a big change in their lives and in the community. Because this program runs concurrently with our outreach hours, 100% of the money donated for ARC Advocates goes directly to their program (your donations help cover their stipend, books, fees for courses, supplies for classes for the community, etc.)
- $3,000 will provide for one participant's full 6 months
- $6,000 will provide for a cohort of two participants
- $12,000 provides for an entire year of the ARC program, with 2 Advocates in each 6 month session.
- Any other amount is also welcome and helpful toward the program goals.
To give to this program, click here and choose "The Bridge Care Center" from the drop down menu to the right of the amount. Please email jenmanlief@bridgecarecenter.org to designate your donation to ARC, because our giving software doesn't enable specific designation beyond The BCC.
Cultivate Cohorts
Cultivate Cohorts happen once a week and provide a safe space for women to connect, learn new skills, create together, and share meals. This program began in 2019 as we realized that women facing housing and economic struggles are especially isolated and vulnerable, and often need specific support and safe, healthy spaces in order to heal and move forward. This program has already changed lives as it provides encouragement, tangible care like haircuts and food, and community that has helped women flourish and believe in the potential of their futures again.
Funds donated to this program help cover our staff and overhead costs for the cohort (food, supplies for creative activities, outings and development training, etc.) We also offset these program costs by inviting volunteers to sign up to assist with meals and other items. Gift cards to local Ballard restaurants are also helpful donations.
$75 provides one meal for participants and volunteers at a Cultivate Cohort meeting
$300 provides meals for a month
$500 provides creative supplies for an entire 8 week session of a Cultivate Cohort
$900 provides for one complete Cultivate Cohort Program (food and all fees)
You can donate online here; select the BCC from the drop down menu. Please also email jenmanlief@bridgecarecenter.org to designate your donation to Cultivate Cohort program because our giving software doesn't enable specific designation beyond The BCC.
